Cultural Connections

In Cultural Connections classes during the past two weeks students have been involved in a Chinese independent research assignment.Topics researched included Chinese Inventions,Footbinding, Buddhism, the Mongols, and The Silk Road. The main purpose was to gain insight into the Chinese culture and to share information with their classmates. Another purpose was to work on time management and research skills-two areas also being worked on in science.

This week, the 7th grade began working on preparing for a mini mock-trial based on the novel, Ender's Game. Sarah Boyette, a public defender in Brooklyn, visited our classes to introduce the key legal aspects of the project.
